NELLIS RECENT PROJECTS

Storm Water Management Pond, Milton
Nellis Construction was awarded the contract for the construction of a large storm water management pond in Milton, Ontario. This pond was designed to service the future industrial sites along the James Snow Parkway. Work began in July 2011. Topsoil was stripped and stockpiled for reuse. The pond was excavated to the design grade, topsoil was placed back on the slopes of the pond to support plant life.
Grading was performed using a GPS guided dozer.

Fairway Road Extension, Kitchener
Construction of the Fairway Road extension began in the fall of 2010. This project will connect Fairway Road in Kitchener to Kossuth Road in Cambridge. Over 2 kilometres of road will be built as well as a much needed bridge over the Grand River. Nellis Construction was hired to strip topsoil and grade the future road allowance. Bridge abutments were put to grade on each side of the river, the west abutment was raised 11 metres to meet the future bridge profile while the east abutment had to be excavated to allow access to the bridge pier located near the river.
